Starting your Fire:
Your Earth Rocket Stove operates on the same basis of any wood stove, in that it needs:
-
Good air flow
-
Stirring or shaking of the coals and ashes with a poker or other appropriate instrument
-
Continual supply of fuel/wood

You can place paper, chips, tiny sticks, leaves or some type of fire starter in the ash pan or grate. Use only DRY small sticks! Never use green or wet wood! Dead fallen tree limbs or branches broken into small pieces are great!

Light and allow flames to establish, then as the fire increases, add larger dry fuel/wood. Keep the air flowing as needed.

IMPORTANT! Keep the ash pan and grate open for air. Stir after your fire is going. The ashes and coals can pack and restrict air flow and your fire power will decrease.

Give yourself time! Practice makes perfect. You will learn after a few fires how to start and maintain a good hot fire!

Remember:

-
Keep your fire fed with fuel
-
Keep the grate open
-
Ashes removed
-
Damper adjusted properly
